This blog should have been written couple of months back...wee precisely 6 months back, thoough I had posted the same in one of my blogs, i have forgotten that site and so am reposting the same
Its been a long time since I have posted something on personal front
2009 was great for us. We had a gala time in Mumbai…loved visiting new places in and around Mumbai during weekends…K had a gala time, he started going to a preschool and has now started socializing very well {I sometime miss his mama chipkoo days!:)}
I had joined a startup and that was a definite learning experience!
In Mumbai we shifted twice as we wanted to avoid traveling while going to work. We couldn’t have asked for more as work area was close by, however, even though we stayed in a nice apartments, somewhere something was missing…we were missing going to our native place...when we were in Bangalore, we used to visit Kerala/Chennai atleast once in two months but after reaching Mumbai, the frequency reduced…even my parents and in-laws visited Mumbai just twice as distance was an issue
K developed running nose on a permanent basis…though I never gave him medicines but it was obvious that pollution was the cause…with loads of construction happening near to our place, we were always surrounded by a blanket of dust
Hubby’s career was going on well, but even he wanted to get back and that’s when we took up the decision of coming back to Bangalore
Thankfully we both got a very very good opportunity at that moment, and here we are Back with a bang in good ol’ BangaloreJ
Life couldn’t be better…I am enjoying, settling down and my heart sings It’s a wonderful wonderful life……

Movie Time
Watched two movies this weekend..New York and Bolt…so here are the reviews

The movies is dragging at times and climax was bad…don’t know why Katrina was killed…anyways that’s Kabir Khan’s perspective.
On the whole, it’s a good entertainer…I will give 3 stars :)
Actingwise….now the chap to watch in future is Neil Nitin Mukesh…he has a tremendous potential and has done his job well here as well, but yes has a long way to go. John, as usual he is climbing to the ladder of stardom because of his good looks and charm, he is still has to learn a lot in the genre of acting…Kabir Khan did a good job of extracting some acting sessions from John..infact one scene where he cries in the jail, for once he does it well.
Katrina is beautiful through out, she’s a treat to eyes…again in terms of acting, guess with each movie she is getting better but still at times, for a fraction of second, you feel that is she out of place? But nah she comes back to the character…did she smile a bit too much in this movie?? Well that’s what I felt
The best person in acting is Irfan Khan (no doubts on that!)..He’s such a treat to watch and his one liners are just too good…he is what a real actor is all about!!!
On a whole I would term this movie : Honest and yes it definitely gives a picture of post 26/11 attacks
this one is for keeps
This was our treat to our son K. I had forced my hubby into it, he is not much into animation movies but thankfully he liked this one. The first few minutes of this movie was a bit confusing, you keep thinking abouth the story line but after 15mins you realize the actual storyline…a clever piece of work…
Its one of the best animation movies, I have seen in a long time. There are some scenes which is supercool and some which are so real…like the one where Mittens makes Bolt realize that he is just a dog…then how Rhino is crazy of Bolt…its so true so many children are like that, fantasizing some dumb superhero characters
Oh BTW, Bolt is voiced by John Travolta and let me tell you…its so soothing to hear him. Even Mitten, voiced by Susie Essman and Rhino, voiced by Mark Walton are a treat to watch and hear. Not to mention , those pigeons and Penny are so cute and apt!!!
The visual effects were very good and each character weaved into the story beautifully
On the whole, this movie was touching and a must watch…I will give 4 stars :)
Go watch Bolt!!!

RNBDJ : Sharukh at his worst

Yesterday night me and hubby dear sat and watched Rab ne bana di jodi
Gosh...it was a torture which was consistent from start to end....at the end, it left us with a horrible feeling
Whats wrong with the directors out here, I dont ask for a Majid Majidi flick, but atleast make sensible movies.....there is an intelligent crowd who wants to watch good movies
I wonder what Sharukh has to say about his forceful geeky acting...he is an idol to so many teenagers,i am sure he has minted enough and atleast now can cant he use his monotonous acting skills in good movies
There was not a scene in the movie worth remembering and the beautiful word 'pyaar' was repeated so many times that one would start hating that word
My hubby who is otherwise the quieter one amongst us, said just one thing...thank god we didnot watch this in pvr...well in a nutshell he expressed what the movie is all about!
According to me, there are three kind of movies one which appeals us to watch in a theatre, second one comprises of those movies which we would not mind watching in a tv
Now RNBDJ falls under the third group where watching in a telivision is also painful to the core :).....as for me I am going to watch another flick so that I get out of that distasteful feeling of watching a 'BAD CINEMA'

Billu/Billu Barber : Irfan Rocks
.jpg)
I have seen the original version of this movie (Katha Parayumbol),the original movie was nothing great but yes it was definitely a pleasant, feel good movie.....
Hindi version Billu could have been much much better
Well, the movie was great, thanks to Irfan but SRK was a menace in the movie......
Just watching Irfan play the role was so pleasing to our eyes but each time we enjoyed his part...from nowhere SRK arrived and spoiled the whole feel of the movie
I could not help wondering the fact that this superstar is so badly self obsessed...I dont think he even deserves a mention for this movie atleast....it was infact tortorous watching him enact the last emotional part...I could not help laughing but again Irfan in the last part with just three scenes filled our eyes with tears
I guess that speaks of how good Irfan is as an actor...Infact he enacted the role better than Srineevasan who happens to be in the original flick
Lara also carried off the role well and the kids were just right...Apart from them all scenes where the villagers were involved was up to the mark
The movie would have been great if Irfan and Lara roles had more roles to play and SRK's role was cut short...Wish that Priyadarshan had atleast kept his word....When Kuselan(Tamil version) of Katha Parayumbol had released last year, it had exaggerated the role of the actor (Rajinikanth)...thats when Priyadarshan had decided to remake the movie in Hindi, this is what he said:

"See, like all Rajinikanth starrers, Kuselan has been made to spotlight Rajini as a larger-than-life icon. I believe he enters the film riding a winged horse. Though my film also stars a superstar (Shahrukh) as a superstar, I've nowhere tried to increase his role or heighten the impact of his presence. I'm not that kind of filmmaker." So sad after saying all this I expected to watch a simple good movie but what turned out is another Kuselan!!! Its so sad that stardom makes one so greedy.
