Movie Time

Watched two movies this weekend..New York and Bolt…so here are the reviews

New York
The movies is dragging at times and climax was bad…don’t know why Katrina was killed…anyways that’s Kabir Khan’s perspective.
On the whole, it’s a good entertainer…I will give 3 stars :)

Actingwise….now the chap to watch in future is Neil Nitin Mukesh…he has a tremendous potential and has done his job well here as well, but yes has a long way to go. John, as usual he is climbing to the ladder of stardom because of his good looks and charm, he is still has to learn a lot in the genre of acting…Kabir Khan did a good job of extracting some acting sessions from John..infact one scene where he cries in the jail, for once he does it well.
Katrina is beautiful through out, she’s a treat to eyes…again in terms of acting, guess with each movie she is getting better but still at times, for a fraction of second, you feel that is she out of place? But nah she comes back to the character…did she smile a bit too much in this movie?? Well that’s what I felt
The best person in acting is Irfan Khan (no doubts on that!)..He’s such a treat to watch and his one liners are just too good…he is what a real actor is all about!!!

On a whole I would term this movie : Honest and yes it definitely gives a picture of post 26/11 attacks

BOLT

this one is for keeps

This was our treat to our son K. I had forced my hubby into it, he is not much into animation movies but thankfully he liked this one. The first few minutes of this movie was a bit confusing, you keep thinking abouth the story line but after 15mins you realize the actual storyline…a clever piece of work…

Its one of the best animation movies, I have seen in a long time. There are some scenes which is supercool and some which are so real…like the one where Mittens makes Bolt realize that he is just a dog…then how Rhino is crazy of Bolt…its so true so many children are like that, fantasizing some dumb superhero characters

Oh BTW, Bolt is voiced by John Travolta and let me tell you…its so soothing to hear him. Even Mitten, voiced by Susie Essman and Rhino, voiced by Mark Walton are a treat to watch and hear. Not to mention , those pigeons and Penny  are so cute and apt!!!

The visual effects were very good and each character weaved into the story beautifully

On the whole, this movie was touching and a must watch…I will give 4 stars :)

Go watch Bolt!!!
