Review: Yeh Jawaani hai Deewani

Well it was a long time since we had been to a first day first show movie. But we took this risk as we had loved Ranbir and Ayaans combo movie 'Wake up Sid', so did YJHD meet up to the expectations?

Well I would say Yes and No.

Unlike the beautiful storyline of Wake up Sid, YJHD has no story but four beautiful characters.
As usual hats off to Ranbir, he is charming and his acting is wonderful. Its definitely his movie. Even Kalki and Aditya Roy Kapoor have acted very well and Deepika looks beautiful and has an innocence throughout the movie, not much scope in acting but she looks so good that no-one will notice her acting skills.
The surprise package in the form Madhuri is very good. Even though the song "Ghaagra" is badly choreographed, her graceful style of dancing and expressions and not to mention her smile overshadows all flaws.
The story is a typical love story and sadly each part is predictable except for Aditya and Kalkis portions.
Wake up Sid was very practical and each scene could be related however YJHD has loads of Karan Johar elements to it and just when you start liking one scene, the Karan Johar factor comes into picture, maybe that was the mass pull drive strategy for the movie.
In the second half,  the movie starts getting boring for almost half an hour but then takes off soon.
Ranbir is a bankable actor and he is so good, no doubt that he is gonna be the next superstar of bollywood. He deserves full credit.
In fact each character has played their best, the scenes between Farooq Sheikh, Tanvi Azme and Ranbir touches your heart and even a Dolly Ahluwalia brings a smile to your face. The songs are good and likeable.
The chemistry between Ranbir and Deepika is soo good that you silently pray that why don't these two get married in real life, but reel life is not real life :)
Well, its definitely a one-time watch, you smile, you have tears in your eyes, you laugh and you become nostalgic through out the movie but it all gets over in the theatre!
So after watching the movie unlike Wake up Sid which stayed in my heart for some days, I had nothing to take home after watching Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, except for some scenes.
